Ms. Boerke joined the Markettes in 2013 as their director. She started her dance training at the age of 2. Over the years she has trained in many styles of dance; ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, modern, tap, hip hop and musical theatre. She graduated from Clear Lake High School where she served as a junior lieutenant and the team’s top officer her senior year. She attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a degree in finance. She was a member of the Aggie Dance Team, she served as the team’s co-captain her sophomore year and the team’s captain her junior and senior years. Ms. Boerke has worked for Crowd Pleasers Dance Camps for ten years, teaching dance to high school dance teams. She has served as a teacher, choreographer and a judge. She also works at Premier Dance Academy, located in Clear Lake, teaching advanced tap and jazz classes. Ms. Boerke spent four years working at Crosby High School as a dance teacher and the director of the Cougar Stars. The Cougar Stars won numerous best in class awards, choreography awards and technique awards. Ms. Boerke resides in the Heights.
Originally from Austin, TX, Mrs. Caldwell was trained in jazz, tap and ballet starting at a very young age. While at Westwood High School, she had the privilege of being a 3-year member of the Sun Dancers and an Assistant for the Warrior Pride Dance team her senior year. She recently graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Mathematics Minor. While at Texas State, she was a member of the Texas State University Strutters for 3 years. Mrs. Caldwell had the opportunity to dance as a Jazz Elite and Pom Squad member. She also experienced numerous memorable performances including the 2012 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as featured performers. Mrs. Caldwell is a member of TDEA and serves as the TDEA Regional Representative for Region 27. She also serves as the SBISD DEAL (Dance Educators Assessment of Learning) coordinator. Mrs. Caldwell also teaches Dance at Memorial Middle School and a local studio. She has been living in Houston for 5 years and currently resides in Copperfield. Mrs. Caldwell enjoys spending time with her husband and newborn son, and cheering on the Astros as a family! She is looking forward to starting her 5th year teaching at MHS.
